Job summary
We are looking for a trained dispenser or dispensary assistant, with an appropriate dispensing qualification, to join our busy team. Full time or part-time hours are available, around 37hrs required. Shifts are variable Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00am and 18:30pm.
The candidate must have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise, demonstrating methodical working processes.
Main duties of the job
- Dispensing a range of prescription types safely and accurately whilst following procedures including travel medication and private prescriptions
- Taking in / handing out prescriptions, completing exemptions, and where appropriate processing payments and counselling patients
- End of month prescription processes
- Identifying any errors or near misses and escalating to the appropriate management level
- Stock control, date checking, cleaning, ordering, receiving and rotating stock
- Destroying out of date medication
- Recording fridge temperatures
- To be able to use our computer systems confidently (SystmOne/Titan)
- Processing prescription requests and actioning and responding to patient queries
- Handling patient communications including the telephone and SMS
- Flexibility in working overtime and covering sickness
- Maintain your own professional development

Probus is our main surgery, with branch sites at The Merlin Centre and Tregony.
