Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated GP who can work in a very friendly and professional team we have established at the practice. The CQC rating is good. We are a flexible practice that want to support the team as much as we can with start and finish times of clinics as well as offering a supportive workforce.

We offer a meeting schedule to ensure everyone is kept up to date and the team is supported. We have a wide range of staff such as a supportive admin and reception team who are supportive leads in various different practice areas, pharmacists, SPLWs, Care coordinators, ANPs, Nurses and HCAs. We enjoy collaborative working across the practice and are keen to support the salaried GP in any way we can.

We have regular and engaging staff meetings, which allow the practice to recognise areas for improvement and implement changes more effectively. These meetings give all staff the chance to share their views and ideas, and so we would welcome an enthusiastic individual to join our team.

The team of clinicians also look forward to regular educational meetings including teaching sessions delivered by guest speakers, as well as afternoon sessions where the whole practice is closed for training/education.

Main duties of the job

A 4-6 session salaried GP post available in a city centre practice based in the heart of Newcastle. Salary is competitive and per session. Offer of £12,000 per session

We are located within Boots, Eldon Square Shopping Centre and provide primary medical services to Newcastle and its surrounding population.

- Practice pharmacist eases the workload for clinicians by managing the majority of the daily prescription requests, and has set clinics for performing medication reviews and some long-term condition reviews

- Supportive, experienced Nursing/HCA team

- Members of the East Network, local Federation and LMC

- Supportive admin team has received training in document management, and manages most of the coding and triaging of the incoming post

We have a registered patient list size of around 17, 000, which largely comprises of a student population, making it a very interesting and unique place to work.
