Job summary
An exciting new temporary job opportunity for a part-time (15 hours) member of staff has arisen within our domestic team. We are looking for a friendly, flexible and proactive person to come and join us.
The successful candidate will be required to work between the hours of 5.00pm - 8.00pm Monday - Friday and 8.45am - 1.00pm on Saturdays. (if required)
Main duties of the job
To clean clinic rooms, offices,
kitchens and all other areas within the practice.
To dispose of clinical waste
appropriately and following guidelines and procedures
To maintain security of the building
and its contents.
To be responsible for a set of keys and
for ensuring the security and integrity of areas of cleaning.
To report maintenance issues that may
arise whilst performing duties.
To clean areas including surfaces,
large and small equipment, sinks, clinical and non-clinical equipment and
kitchen equipment
Maintain working environment; deep
clean carpeted and non-carpeted areas, fixtures and fittings; windows and walls
Maintain storage areas.
Operate machinery as required.
Comply with COSHH regulations
Work within the relevant legislation,
policies and procedures.
To carry out any other
reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading
and level of responsibility of the post
About us
Alnwick Medical Group is a large 6-partner practice covering Alnwick and its surrounding villages that launched in Summer 2017 from the merging of The Bondgate Practice and Infirmary Drive Medical Group.
We operate from 3 locations which are, Alnwick, Embleton and Seahouses. With the main site being located in Alnwick.
The practice covers a large geographical area of rural Northumberland, incorporating Bamburgh in the North to Warkworth in the South and from the coast stretching west to villages such as Glanton and Powburn.
We are able to dispense medications to patients in our most rural inland and coastal villages.

- Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety procedures applicable to domestic staff
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures
- Sound knowledge of infection control policies
- Previous experience working as a domestic
- Experience of lone working
- Experience of working in areas responsible for patient confidentiality
Desirable
- NVQ Level 1/2/3
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Previous commercial cleaning duties
- Experience working under indirect supervision
- Full driving licence with business insurance and willingness to work multi-site when required
